Videos, film, animations, and mashups have emerged as effective vehicles for mobilizing individuals around social change. Participant Productions, Jeff Skoll's production company, has had a significant impact in this area by funding projects such as Syriana or An Inconvenient Truth in conjunction with social activism programs. To showcase this technique being used at a smaller scale, N-TEN and See3 are sponsoring the first-ever NTC Video Competition
The goal of the contest is to spread the word about how video helps nonprofits achieve their mission. Videos can be from a wide variety of issue and interest areas that might include (but are not limited to) activism, environment, education, disability, economic development, human services, international development, health, and the arts.
Finalists will be screened at the Nonprofit Technology Conference in April. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2008 NTC in New Orleans, and of course will be featured prominently on the N-TEN Web site for bragging rights.
To enter, just visit the contest page for rules and guidelines for submission - but hurry, the deadline is March 11th.
