At last night's Top Connected Innovators showcase at Supernova, an excited Kaliya Hamlin told me about that day's official launch of i-names registration. I-names are an emerging standard for user-centric identity, and a solution for the problem of managing conflicting or outdated identities.
Now, I don't know if i-names will end up being as coveted as domain names, but it can't hurt to grab your own before it's gone. At dinner last night, everyone I told borrowed my laptop so that they could grab i-names for themselves, their spouses, their kids, etc. There was much joy when someone's first name was available.
Both 2idi and Linksafe are now accepting registrations. $20 appears to be the going rate for a one-year individual registration. Get 'em while they're hot.
