Personal News: I'm Joining First Round Capital

FirstRound Big personal announcement today! I'm officially joining First Round Capital. (Thanks very much to Josh for his warm welcome.) I'll be working closely with Rob Hayes in the San Francisco office.

It's safe to say that I'm thrilled. Not just because I'm joining an 'A' team at First Round, but also because of the personal fulfillment I'll get from helping to build the fund. How many folks get to be both a venture capitalist and an entrepreneur? Also, given the fund's hands-on style of early-stage investing, I'll have the joy of deep engagement and ongoing connection with makers.

During the past year spent as an informal venture advisor, I've been impressed by Josh, Rob, Howard, and Chris. They share thoughtful insight and attention with entrepreneurs, both inside and outside of the firm's portfolio. And they create value for limited partners with a solid approach to investment management. I'm looking forward to being a part of it.

...and with that, I'm off to share a toast with Kent Goldman, my new partner in crime also hired by First Round today.
