VC Girl-Watching

I've been noting the apparently long-standing hullabaloo over the women at Etech, and thought it would be interesting to look for blogs from venture capital women for a change. Here's where I looked, and what I found:

  • The highest-ranking resource for VC-authored blogs on Google is the Seeking Alpha list. Nice list, but I discovered no women there.
  • Fast Company published a list of top VC blogs last year. More guys.
  • Checked out Technorati's list of venture blogs. Went through the top 100 blogs. All the VCs are guys, though there were a few women writing about venture capital, albeit not investors themselves. (Note: I didn't show up on this list either...I write more about neat tech learnings than about VC.)
  • Inside Omidyar Network - many women investors here with me, but no others that are blogging.
  • Pinged Google and Technorati to see if some well-known women investors had blogs: Ann Winblad, Heidi Roizen, Esther Dyson. Finally....Esther Dyson!

There have to be more than two of us, but I've already sunk an hour into looking. Do you know of other female investors with blogs? Throw in links you know of via comment below, and I'll add them to this jury-rigged VentureChick reader. Just for fun and all, let's see who's out there. Might as well use up one of those extra blogs that come with "Typepad Medium".

(Note: Blogs must be in either English or Spanish in order for me to quickly confirm that the author is either a professional investor, or an established angel.)

Kirsten, thanks very much for the shoutout - I bet that your efforts alone will add some names to the VentureChick index. Great efforts over at re:invention.

P.S. Our little blog post landed ya on Matt Marshall's SiliconBeat (with a glowing positive review). Not bad for a day's work. And we don't even represent you. You two should have lunch (never hurts to connect with reporters). :)-

Your point about the lack of female VC bloggers on the Seeking Alpha list is well-taken. I'd be happy to add reviews of female VC's blogs to the list. Would you drop me an email and we can discuss how best to do this?

Great blog!

Thanks, Anne! (And then there were three...) Please do keep me posted if you notice more, and I'll add the feeds. I wonder if the ratio of tech guys:vc guys is the same as the ratio for tech gals:vc gals? In which case, the vc gal nums will be looow.

Sachi Gahan is a VC with CenterPoint in Austin who blogs at Class V (http://classv.typepad.com). Sadly, she lost her husband in a motorcycle accident a little over a month ago so she hasn't been blogging much.

If I come across any others, I will let you know. I follow tech blogs by women for BlogHer (that's how I found you!) but can't think offhand of any others that are investors.
