Environment: The Web 2.0 conference hosted by O'Reilly Media and MediaLive International in San Francisco.
Caveats: I was not in attendance for the full conference, just for the closing panels on Friday afternoon.
The crowd had thinned out quite a bit by then, perhaps in equal
XX/XY proportions but perhaps not. Also, given the dimness of the
auditorium area I could not count individuals in all sections...counted
those sections I could see (about half) and multiplied accordingly in
order to calculate total estimates.
Count:
Men: 294
Women: 63
XX Footprint: 17.65%
This is a slightly higher proportion then what you typically see at tech conferences...and given the raw numbers, there is statistical significance. (Cool!) Also, note that I've blogged Pierre's interview separately.
